Sean Peck does a great job following different steampunk bands. At Dragon*Con 2012, Aeronauts vocalist/ guitarist/ songwriter Brandt Cooley spoke with Sean about his band's take on steampunk music, and the passion that goes into creating their work. The four piece act opened Dragon*Con 2012's Mechanical Masquerade Ball with a bang, which is ably captured on the second half of the video.
The Aeronauts' sound is tough to classify, and that's just fine--they brought some serious energy and quickly set the crowd in motion. Cooley's lyrics, riffs, and vocals just hooked the ear. With Jules' drumming locked tight with Becky's solid bass playing, and Samuel's flowing violin bringing the high-end melody, the band's groove was, well, infectious.
